This intimate inner-city project was designed for a professional couple seeking thoughtful, understated additions.
At DiMase Architects, even a small kitchen or bathroom addition receives the same attention to detail as any major project. From the outset, we recognised that the existing home required minimal intervention, allowing us to focus on enhancing what was already there.
The new rear facilities create a subtle separation from the original house, yet internally the flow between old and new spaces remains seamless and comfortable. A tall, narrow window above the boundary wall captures the soft morning light, illuminating the kitchen and adding a splash of colour to greet our clients each day. In contrast, the bathroom was designed as a darker, more dramatic retreat, while the original rooms remain crisp, white, and minimal.
The result is a refined, elegant renovation – executed by Clockwork Constructions – that harmonises beautifully with the future garden setting. Special thanks to site foreman Jai Flude, Ben Johnston, and their team for their meticulous care and dedication throughout the build.
