This home is defined by two thoughtfully placed courtyards that break up the long floor plan and laneway-facing façade. These outdoor spaces not only mark the transition between the original structure and the new extension, but also introduce natural light, ventilation, and outlooks across the laneway to more open views. The design allows the terrace to borrow light and vistas from the east, making the home feel more spacious and connected to its surroundings.
Internally, the focus was on fostering a strong relationship between the new and existing parts of the house. By carefully linking old and new spaces, we created a seamless spatial flow that brings a sense of cohesion and continuity to the home.
What we love most about this project is how it gave the owners a home that feels calm, light-filled, and effortless to live in. The courtyards invite the outside in, offering both openness and privacy—a thoughtful balance that enhances everyday living.
