What If There Were No Limits? Exploring Our Design Style Through a Thought Experiment. Every project comes with its own set of constraints — budget, regulations, and style often determine the boundaries within which we work.
That’s fine and it’s the work we do. But what if those boundaries didn’t exist? What if we had complete creative freedom, with no limits on resources, rules, or aesthetics? What would we do? In this little thought experiment, I decided to explore exactly that. If we were to design without constraints, what would our style look like? The answer, it turns out, is a fusion of four key elements that come together to create something truly unique:
1. Creative Reuse of Inner Urban Spaces
We’d start by reimagining existing urban structures, breathing new life into them. There’s something compelling about transforming an old building into something fresh and functional, while honouring its history and character.

2. A Minimalist Aesthetic
Inspired by the clean lines of Japanese architecture, the elegance of Severance, and the sleek simplicity of Apple’s design philosophy, we’d embrace a minimalist approach. Less is more, and every detail would be intentional.

3. Italian Design from the 60s and 70s
Honouring my parent’s heritage and to add personality and optimism, we’d weave in the bold, playful, and innovative design elements of Italian furniture and interiors from the 1960s and 70s. Think colours, organic shapes, and a touch of retro flair.

4. Light and Space Movement Inspiration
Finally, we’d draw inspiration from the Light and Space movement from the 1960’s west coast of USA that I love, incorporating cutting-edge technology and experiential art and sculpture to create immersive, sensory places. Light, texture, and innovation would come together to elevate the space into something futuristic.

This blend of old and new, minimalism and boldness, tradition and innovation, is what defines our style in this limitless world. It’s a vision that celebrates creativity, functionality, and beauty — a space where the past, present, and future coexist harmoniously.
